Linux eeeMint7のeclipse3.2で割と親切な日本語解説画面が現れる事が判ったので活用して良く勉強したいと思います。

Grub2のブートローダーの背景画面を設定(Xubuntu9.10)

まず、/etc/grub.d/05_debian_themeとゆうテキストファイルを編集。具体的には

for i in {/boot/grub,/usr/share/images/desktop-base,/usr/share/images/grub}/my-image.{png,tga} ; do

と書かれている部分を

for i in /usr/share/images/grub/Flower002.png ; do

などと書き換えて実際に画像ファイルを /usr/share/images/grubにFlower002.pngとゆう名前で保存し（別のディレクトリ、名前.png or .tgaでも良い）、

$sudo update-grub2

を端末で実行するだけです。

この画像をダウンロードして使いました。

CentOS 5.4 をネットブックにインストール

ハードディスクにCentOSをインストールしてみると、予想も付かない不具合が見えてきた・・・起動にかなり時間がかかる・・・悲しかったのでFedora12をインストールし直した・・・こちらは画面が狭くなってしまう・・・とても使えない・・・折角空けたパーティションをどうしようか？・・・もっとましなディストリは無いのか？・・・残念・・・Fedora12の窮屈な画面を・・・

USB Cent OS 5.4 始動

ライブCDの部屋とゆうサイトから日本語化したCent OS 5.4とゆうOSのライブイメージをダウンロードしてLiveUSB-Creatorとゆうソフトを使ってUSBメモリーにインストールして使ってみ た・・・かなり動作が軽く、速いのでネットブックでも使い易い。デスクトップもスッキリしていてディスプレイの性能が生かせて更に良い事づくめだ・・・ レッドハットエンタープライズとゆう商用のOSを基に作られているので安定感も抜群だ・・・

To start mysqld at boot time you have to copy
support-files/mysql.server to the right place for your system

PLEASE REMEMBER TO SET A PASSWORD FOR THE MySQL root USER !
To do so, start the server, then issue the following commands:
/usr/bin/mysqladmin -u root password 'new-password'
/usr/bin/mysqladmin -u root -h slax password 'new-password'

Alternatively you can run:
/usr/bin/mysql_secure_installation

which will also give you the option of removing the test
databases and anonymous user created by default.  This is
strongly recommended for production servers.

See the manual for more instructions.

You can start the MySQL daemon with:
cd /usr ; /usr/bin/mysqld_safe &

You can test the MySQL daemon with mysql-test-run.pl
cd mysql-test ; perl mysql-test-run.pl

Puppy Linuxでeclipse3.5

Puppy LinuxならSLAXより安定してeclipse3.5galileoが使えます。

SLAXでmysql立ち上がらず

SLAXでeclipse使用中にフリーズ・・・そして再起動・・・使っているネットブックのCPUはAtom Z520と言って複雑な命令はCerelon CPUなどと比べて出来ない・・・トランジスター数も3分の１以下で少ないので並列分散処理には向かない・・・そして再起動（ソフト的にではなく、ハードによって）を繰り替えしてUSBのSLAXシステムは破壊されシャットダウンも出来なくなった（アイコンも表示されなくなる）・・・けして安定したシステムとは言えない・・・結局、SLAX　USB　システムのインストール及び再構築を余儀なくされた・・・時間にして5時間位(もっとか？・・・）の損失・・・勉強にはなるが・・・メールからインターネットブラウザの設定やJavaの設定・・・アプリケーションのインストールなど一からやり直し・・・
ところで、SLAXでmysqlをインストールしたが、起動の方法が解らない・・・どうなっているんだろう・・・難しい・・・ググっても解らず・・・１３メガバイトしかないmysqlってどうなってるの？・・・

ネットブックでeclipse・・・

acer Aspire one 751でWindows XPにeclipse galileo3.5をインストールし起動してみたら・・・ようこそ画面が変・・・×××と×が並んで使えない？・・・インストールに失敗したか？・・・どうしよう・・・まあこれで使ってみるか？・・・しょうがない・・・

eeeMint 8 リリース

eeeMint 8 が昨日新規公開された。早速ダウンロードしてLive USBを造って起動してみた。なんかeeeMint 7 の方が良さそう・・・eeeMint 7 を使いつづけたいと思った。新しくなったからといって良くなるとは限らないらしい・・・残念・・・

ネットブックなのにMoblin起動せず

Ubuntu magazine vol.01を見ながらMoblinと言うネットブックのAtomプロセッサーに最適化されているとゆうLinux OSをUSBメモリーにインストールしたり、USBメモリーにインストールしたMoblinを起動してみた。私のacer Aspire one 751はAtom Z520と言うCPUだけれどインストールも起動も出来なかった・・・悔しいのでceleron CPUのノートパソコンで試してみた。こちらはMoblinのインストール、起動ともに成功。ところでMoblinはshutdownが出来ない・・・commandもnot found・・・terminalを起動しhalt -pで電源を落とした。

Fedora12のLiveUSBをつかってみた

Fedora12のLiveUSBを造るにあたってはhttp://cryst.tv/experiment/HowToMakeFedora10LiveUSB.html と雑誌のLinux100%vol.7を参考にWindows XPを使って造りました。結構難しかったけれどLiveUSBからの起動に成功しました。
ポイントはExplzhやLaplasなどの解凍・圧縮ソフトをうまく使うことです。Fedora12はネットブックで使うには重そうな感じがしました。それと文字が大きすぎて折角のディスプレイの性能を生かしきれないのが残念な所です。

映画『２０１２』を見た

映画『２０１２』を見た。あらすじは太陽の異変により地球の地殻変動が起こり、それを予知していた人々により、なんとか中国で極秘に造られた箱舟に乗り地球上の何%かの人々が助かるとゆう話。宇宙船で脱出出来るのかと思わせるが実はタダの頑丈な船・・・その乗船のためには一人10億ユーロが必要とのこと・・・ほとんどの地球上の人々は地震や津波で死んでしまう・・・
